April 14th… the last time I blogged until now. I have always been the type of person who goes all out in doing something until the point of burnout. Whether it be work related, personal research related, exercise related, blog related or “whatever else I can think of” related, I always end up doing it until I burn out. There have been times where I have taken a year or two off something until I can find the will to carry on in whatever area I burnt out from in the first place.
I have really enjoyed blogging over the past three years and it always seems that I feel the need to take a break once the beautiful weather gets here. Last summer I disappeared for a while when I finally returned to “blog land” in the fall.
Well hopefully this summer I will try to stay around a bit more and so I figured that if I took an April/May break, I might be able to last the hazy lazy summer days… At least I really hope so.
It's good to be back... It's always good to be back! Now if I can only find a way to not let my biking, camping, running, gardening, renovating, travelling, working, sun tanning, swimming and "whatever elsing" get in the way of my blogging!

Hey Dave, enjoy all those activities as much as you can, we will always wait til your return.
Welcome back :)
I've ben taking short breaks myself. Sometimes it just has to be done.
Amen to that LOL. I find I spend less and less time as the days get longer and sunnier :)
All of you guys are "foul" weather friends! LoL. Regular bloggers in winter but alas distracted by the sunny days of summer! Haha! But don't worry, it is most understandable.
Well Done Dave. It beats better than glue to the TV. I had a post today regarding that...hehehe.
Looks like I picked a good day to visit. I have also been spending a lot less time blogging and am always behind with my reading. Good to see you and enjoy the good weather while you have it.
dave,
been missing ur posts.anyway ,glad that u r back.enjoy ur time, and dont forget to post something once in a while.
I figured you were out mountain biking...
And grading papers.
And if I were a teacher, I probably wouldn't spend much time blogging during my 2 months off either.
And his back......
When the sun comes out we all get distracted, so no one can blame you Dave,:-D
Yes, you deserve a break ~~ but just know you were missed, and your blog is one I enjoy ~~ so glad you are back.
Glad your back.Looking forward to your summer experiences
Beautiful photo Dave and I also get burned out on blogging. Seems to kind of be happening a little right now.
just have fun...
I find the same thing. I could post easily enough but they wouldn't be that interesting and I just wouldn't be able to read others' blogs much. I find that most people don't blog as much in the summer.
Enjoy all your activities! Do a bike ride for me every now and then...my knee is still bummed and I can only swim a bit!
A break is good, but welcome back. :)
Life is about living it. Summer is the best time! Say hi when you feel like it. No worries.
Welcome back! I love that picture. The ocean is just at the end of that walkway. Last one in is a rotten egg! :-)
Get outside Dave.
You have had a rough winter with lots of snow.
Now get outside and enjoy it.
Have an awesome weekend.
Such is life. You have more to blog about if you go live it first:) It's good to know you are well. Hope you are having fun!
I'm always looking forward to your blog, been peeking on and off since that last one. And I look forward to reading about your adventures, as one poster said so well, you've got to live them adventures before writing about them!
LOL! i understand how it is when the beautiful weather arrives.
i'm going thru so much right now dealing with my grandbaby's death (3 months old) and the parents, and one of my closest friends is on her deathbed. beautiful weather can be a good lifter-upper though. we break as needed from blogging, but we do come back.
Dave,
I'm just like you when it comes to doing things to the point of burnout. You have to do things while your passionate about them.
Maybe in the future, we'll be able to carry around very hi-tech portable internet devices so that we can blog instantly the moment something happens. I'm thinking it would be really powerful handheld pc's.
