These Kids Are My Life

If you are a parent then you know what I am speaking about...

I was just sitting here when I wandered across a photograph of my children on the Internet while checking out their facebooks. As I sat here looking at them, I was in awe as to how fortunate I was to have them in my life. Now I know that, over the past years, I have gotten them pretty mad at me from time to time but I do know that, in between those "time to times," they sincerely love me.

They are my life. They make my life worth living. Take them away from me and it would feel like I would have nothing to live for. Yah, I know... I am being overly emotional right? Yah well... as a parent, I think we all have the right to be emotional from time to time. Don't you agree?

One thing I have often prayed for is that, no matter what happens to their mother or me, they will always be close. Over the years, I can be proud to say that, though they have had their differences, they have always been involved in each other's lives. I know my son would never admit it, he is proud of his sister and I know that she is very proud of him.

My daughter is in her second year of college and, in a couple of years, she could very well be far away from her brother but I do know, from what I have seen, distance will never be an issue between them.

So there! ... I feel blessed!

Dave, You have beautiful children. I know how proud you must be. I don't want my own 12 year old to grow up. He's already too old. I know, gotta cut those apron strings one day...

Dave,

As parents aren't we all lucky. I have 4 and at the age 41. I also have 2 grandchildren. My two oldest are grown and one is already in his career, the other my daughter is in her 2nd year of college as well.

I do not think you are being over emotional. In fact, I think you are being normal. So mmuch today they want us to just let our children fly free. If you ask me it is when we completely let go that they lose something.
You are blessed and they are to have you.

Be well,

T

Family matters. You are blessed with two wonderful children and they are blessed with wonderful parents. A loving, affirming and supporting family is getting harder to find and they are more precious than rare jewels. Many envy what you have.

What beautiful kids. And they obviously adore each other. If you have raised them to do that, then you are a good parent. It's important for siblings to be friends.

You are blessed.

Touching & probably echoing the thoughts of parents everywhere. (Isn't facebook grand) I like to think that I have that sort of relationship with my brother. Quite a bit of distance between us now, geographically, but memories & love bond the distances!

Children are such precious beings and no matter how old we get or how far away we live they are still our children - the bond is always there.
Even more important is the bond created between siblings - something nourished by wise and loving parents.
You have a wonderful family Dave.
