My Favorite Commercials

I have often enjoyed watching the commercials during the Superbowl more than the Superbowl itself. Over the years some of the most popular as well as the most expensive to make commercials were aired during this time. These commercials, though costing millions to make as well as millions to air brought in revenue far surpassing the amount put out to produce them.

My favourite Superbowl commercial is not one of the famous Budweiser commercials, neither is it one of the Ford Motor Company nor Coke commercials, but instead the following commercial.

Ironically, though I thoroughly enjoy Superbowl commercials, a non Superbowl commercial is presently my favourite commercial and will remain my favourite for months to come.

In today’s society, many people out there go from day to day with heavy hearts unable to lift the weight off their shoulders. Many of them who have no one to share their fears or pains with, keep it inside themselves only for it to surface in the way of high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes or many of the other stress related illnesses.

They say that sharing is one of the best forms of stress relief and that sometimes all it takes is for us to share our hearts and hurts with someone else to be able to reach closure.

The Kleenex company, in my estimation, has done a brilliant job in bringing this out in the following commercial and therefore have made it, in my estimation, one of the best commercials around.

I really love that second one! I'm not a big fan of Viagra commercials so I didn't really care for the first one. I guess my favorite Superbowl commercial was the Budweiser one where a donkey or pony or something gets to ride with the Clydesdales. My all time favorite commercial was many years ago. I only saw it twice. I guess PETA complained and had it yanked. A guy was watching sports on TV (the Superbowl?) and his dog, a gorgeous golden retriever was sitting up next to his chair. The guy called to order a pizza and was so excited about the game, he set the phone down on the dog's head instead of on the phone base. It was really cute. I wonder if that's on youtube?

That first one got me. I'm thinking, what would make people so happy? News of the end of the war? Everyone winning the lottery? Viagra? Now that was a surprise that gave me a laugh. And the second video? Heartwarming.

I'll be somewhere without a TV for the Superbowl. I'll have to watch the commercials on YouTube.

Dave, I loved the second one the first time I saw it! Even got me a bit teary as I'm sure a lot of us have found themselves in situations like these, opening up to a total stranger and get emotional about it. I'm not a big football fan so won't get to see those mega $$$ commercials but I know the rest of the world will get the edited version(s) in weeks/months to come.

First one is funny too. Didn't they make a follow up to that one with just the women? Then the weird "viagra" language... who knew there was such a demand for the stuff :)

Great post.

The first commercial made me laugh - not what I was expecting at all!

We have the kleenex one over here too. Quite often the commercials are better than the programmes! :)

Hum, I just dry my eyes with my shirt sleeves.

I don't watch the Superbowl or the commercials so I don't know what is going on there.

I think that big league football is just a stupid game played by over paid people that don't care that women and children in Haiti are eating dirt cookies.

That is what I think. During the game tomorrow I will be at a beach fussing about how mankind is, of hunkered down here in my cave.

I have to agree the kleenex commercials are heartbreakers, I can't watch again, too much heartbreak for me right now.

Hope you enjoy the commercials today...and perhaps the game?

:)

I think a lot of people watch the superbowl just for the commercials. They're the best. There is also a website world’s funniest commercials where you can see great commercials. Sometimes they are better than the TV show.

There is a little something for you over at my blog.

i should have stock in the kleenex company because i know i keep them in business.

i don't see a lot of commercials because when the tv program i'm watching takes their commercial break, so do i.

the downside of the superbowl commercials is the atrocious amounts of $$$ that's spent that could meet someone's medical need or homeless situation need, and i could go on and on and on....., but i'm sure next superbowl, it wouldn't have made a difference.

You're right the commercials are the best part. I think that's my main reason for watching.

I don't see commercials because I don't have a television. :-)

I didn't even get that it was a Viagra commercial. Don't know how I missed that. I liked the Kleenex commercial, too, the first time I saw it. In my job, I help keep the Kleenex compnany in business.

Yep, someone to open their heart and just listen to us. That's all any of us really need. Great stuff!
